Your Identity in Christ

Below is the description of your identity in Christ. This is who God says you are once you become a child of God. I would suggest going over each scripture and confessing with your mouth, so faith can be developed in your life so you can see yourself as a new creature or a new person in Christ Jesus. Don’t see yourself as a thief, a murderer, or rapist, or whatever label has been stuck on you. If you have become a child of God then that’s who you used to be, but the blood of Jesus, your rebirth and the word of your testimony changes your identity from that old man to the new man.

I am accepted and loved:

Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (Romans 5:1, KJV).

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5:21, KJV).

I am chosen by God:

Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God (1 Thessalonians 1:4, KJV).

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering; (Colossians 3:12, KJV).

I am an expression of the life of Christ:

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory (Colossians 3:4, KJV).

I am a carrier of Christ Himself:

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27, KJV).

I am saved and a set apart one:

Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began (2 Timothy 1:9, KJV).

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.(Titus 3:5, KJV).

I have received God's Spirit:

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (1 Corinthians 2:12, KJV).

I have been buried, raised, and made alive in Christ:

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory (Colossians 3:1-4, KJV).

Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses (Colossians 2:12, 13, KJV).

I am the light of the world:

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14, KJV).

I am chosen by God to bear fruit:

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you (John 15:16, KJV).

I am rooted in Christ:

Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with Thanksgiving (Colossians 2:7, KJV).

I am blessed with every spiritual blessing:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3, KJV).

I have been crucified with Christ:

I am crucified with Christ, Nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20, KJV).

I am the salt of the earth:

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under the foot of men (Matthew 5:13, KJV).

I am part of the true vine, and Christ's life flows through me:

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman (John 15:1, KJV).

I am the vine, ye are the branches:

He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much (John 15:5, KJV).

I am a co-heir to Christ, inheriting His glory:

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer (Romans 8:17, KJV).

I am a lively stone and a spiritual house:

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a  holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:5, KJV).

I am God's adopted child:

Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will (Ephesians 1:5, KJV).

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in his name (John 1:12, KJV).

I am a friend of Jesus:

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you (John 15:15, KJV).

I am part of Christ's body:

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular (1 Corinthians 12:27, KJV).

I am a citizen of heaven:

And hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6, KJV).

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20, KJV).

I am a temple that houses the living God:

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16, KJV).

What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6:19, KJV).

I am no longer a sinner but a saint of God:

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:1, KJV).

Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons (Philippians 1:1, KJV).

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:2, KJV).

I have been chosen, and I am sealed in Him:

Now he who established us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnestness of the Spirit in our hearts (2 Corinthians 1:21,22, KJV).

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory (Ephesians 1:13,14, KJV).

I am a slave to righteousness:

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness (Romans 6:18, KJV).

I am a slave to God: But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life (Romans 6:22, KJV).

I have been placed into Christ:

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30, KJV).

I am an enemy to satan:

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8, KJV).

I am a heavenly citizen:

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul (1 Peter 2:11, KJV).

I am a prisoner of Christ helping others:

For this cause, I am Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles (Ephesians 3:1, KJV).

I have the mind of Christ:

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16, KJV).

I have a ministry of reconciliation:

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18, 19, KJV).

I have a spirit of power, love and a sound mind:

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7, KJV).

I no longer live for myself:

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again (2 Corinthian 5:14,15, KJV).

I am raised up and seated with Christ:

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6, KJV).

I can approach God with boldness:

In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him (Ephesians 3:12, KJV).

I have throne rights:

Let us therefore come boldly into the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16, KJV).

I have direct access:

For through him, we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father (Ephesians 2:18, KJV).

I am righteous and holy:

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24, KJV).

He is my Heavenly Father:

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father (Romans 8:14, 15, KJV).

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26, KJV).

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father (Galatians 4:6, KJV).

I am a child of light and not darkness:

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness (1 Thessalonians 5:5, KJV).

The sinful person I used to be died with Christ:

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us who were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin (Romans 6:1-6, KJV).

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence (Ephesians 1:7, 8, KJV).

I am a child of God with an inheritance:

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ (Galatians 4:6, 7, KJV).

I am in the family of God and we are one:

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Galatians 3:26, 28, KJV).

I will be with God forever:

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17, KJV).

I have been justified and completely forgiven by God:

Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1, KJV)

I belong to God:

What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, KJV).

All my sins are forgiven:

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13-14, KJV).

I am complete in Christ:

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:10, KJV).

I am spiritually clean: My old sinful self has been removed. In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: (Colossians 2:11, KJV).

I am alive in Christ:

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (Ephesians 2:5, KJV).

I am free from the punishment my sin deserves:

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walks not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1, KJV).

I am free from law sin and death:

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2, KJV).

I am born of God, and the evil one does not touch me:

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not (1 John 5:18, KJV).

I am holy and without blame before Him in love:

Because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy (1 Peter 1:16, KJV).

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (Ephesians 1:4, KJV).

I have the mind of Christ: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, KJV).

I have the Greater One living in me:

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4, KJV).

I have received the gift of righteousness and reign as a King in life by Jesus Christ:

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17, KJV).

I have received the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus:

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death (Revelation 1:17,18, KJV).

I have received the power of the Holy Spirit:

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In me name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17, 18, KJV).

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto your power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:17, 18, 19, KJV).

I can do all things through Christ Jesus:

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13, KJV).

I show forth the praises of God:

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: Which in the past was not a people, but are now the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy (1 Peter 29, 10, KJV).

I am a child of God and born again:

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever (1 Peter 1:23, KJV).

I am God's workmanship:

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10, KJV).

My past is forgiven and everything is made brand new:

Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV).
